Invite someone to KANVAS
Version 0.20.0. Create a welcome link without granting private access or sending a message.
1. Use Invite to KANVAS in the workspace, or kanvas_members invite.create with requestId and an optional label. The result contains a welcome URL and a pasteable introduction. Nothing is sent automatically.
2. For organization/team membership, pass groupId. Only a current group administrator may issue it. The single-use welcome link has an unguessable ID. The recipient signs in or verifies their account and explicitly chooses Join, or authorizes kanvas_members invite.accept with confirm:true. Inviter authority is rechecked, existing higher roles are retained, and linked groups are not joined. Use kanvas_members invite.revoke to invalidate an unused link.
3. General invitations are independent of sessions, pairing and games. Recipients sign in or create their own account. Opening an invitation never adds membership or approves a receiving browser.
4. New random locators use four lowercase alphanumeric characters excluding ambiguous o, 0, i, 1 and l. Existing links and canonical IDs are preserved. Locators are not credentials.
5. Optional custom addresses use kanvas_sharing address.customize, owner authority and an operator-enabled entitlement. Choose 5–32 lowercase alphanumeric characters beginning with a letter; null releases the custom locator. This is not a payment or subscription system.
